I am a qualified counsellor and a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I provide affordable 1-1 counselling for adults (16+) here at the Therapy Rooms, Wakefield. My approach is warm, empathic and down to earth.

People seek counselling for a variety of reasons, and it is important to choose the right therapist to work with. I specialise in the following areas:
· Bereavement: including complex grief and traumatic/ sudden loss

· Anxiety, including general anxiety disorder, panic attacks, social anxiety

· Issues connected to health, illness and disability (including carer’s issues)

· Major life changes, relationships, affairs and betrayals, changes to circumstances.

· Work related difficulties , stress, career and personal development

· I have experience of supporting individuals on the autistic spectrum (ASD/Aspergers)

· I trained as a relational integrative practitioner which means I can utilise a range of therapeutic approaches, depending on your individual needs. I can help you to:

· Find a safe confidential space to talk about and process painful experiences or losses

· Gain some perspective on your life and your relationships

· Find a way forward if you feel stuck or confused; make positive changes

· Develop helpful coping strategies to better manage stress/ anxiety/ panic

I qualified as a counsellor at Leeds Beckett University and have completed additional specialist training in bereavement, Aspergers/ autism, CBT and interventions for anxiety
