I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist with experience of helping support children, young people and their families with emotional, behavioural and other issues. This can be in many ways e.g., an assessment of a learning disability or Autistic Spectrum condition. From a therapy perspective I provide advice for behavioural management, treatment of mental health difficulties in children, young people or the adults supporting them. This would include adaptation to chronic health difficulties, including pain management, as well as adaptation to any major life events.

My style of work with adults and young people is eclectic, but using evidence based therapy models and approaches to help meet your needs. The main models I use are CBT, systemic, solution focused approaches, motivational interviewing and ACT. Behavioural approaches are also core to all my work.

In terms of adult work I provide input for anxiety, depression, bereavement or relationship based issues. However I can also provide input into stress management or simply provide a space to make sense or help you to make decisions to better your life.

My aim when working with anyone is to help make sense out of difficult feelings, experiences or memories. Working together with you to try and understand or manage difficulties is the most helpful approach. Sometimes making sense of our difficulties is a good place to start, but change can occur without knowing everything. In the longer term helping you to make changes that are helpful for you.

I have worked in emotional and mental health services for over 18 years. I am registered with the HCPC and am a chartered member of the British Psychological Society. I also supervise other professionals to enhance their skills and practice.
